GIEP: Gifted Individualized Education Plan
The GIEP is a plan that details the educational goals for a specific student and the means of accomplishing those goals. Annually, parents, the current teachers, and a school district representative meet to review specially designed instruction to meet the student’s interests, ability and needs. Sometimes, the student or other interested parties attend at the request of the parents.
Once the GIEP is agreed upon, a NORA (Notice of Recommended Assignment) is signed by the parents to express their approval and begin the implementation of the GIEP.
